This engineer will be a key member of the GameSpy Technology team, involved in design and development of new products and services for game publishers and developers.
This division creates enabling technologies for PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS games that enhance the online game experience.
We are looking for a Lead Engineer with technical skills, an eye for excellence and the ability to serve as the leader of a team of software engineers.
The Lead Engineer will work in partnership with other discipline leads and Technical Director to ensure team and overall technical success.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technologies, specify the design, and write application code to develop the core elements for a project.
- Work with product management to architect and develop robust and flexible services for game publishers and developers.
- Lead an internal team of programmers with the ability to mentor at all levels.
- Bring fresh ideas on technology and methodology to the team.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of programming experience in the production of high quality, high availability services in C/C++. Assembly experience a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of networking. Experience with UDP and custom packet protocols strongly preferred.
- Experience developing software for a clustered server environment. Familiar with concepts of high availability.
- Experience writing efficient, multi-platform code a plus.
- Proven formal or informal leadership experience is ideal. Able to work comfortably both as a team member and a leader.
- Highly responsible, detail oriented problem solver with a proven ability to contribute to a creative environment.
- Able to work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
- Experience with scrum-based Agile development process a plus but not required.
- A passion for gaming, especially online gaming, a plus.
