The ideal candidate is an experienced hands-on software engineer with an understanding and passion for multiplayer and MMO server development. The candidate should have a proven track record in successfully developing multiplayer and/or MMO server systems to production quality. Strong communication skills across disciplines are important for the candidate to succeed in our dynamic development environment.

Essential Functions
• Work with an Agile sprint team to define, estimate, and implement game systems.
• Work with design and other engineering teams to specify server systems.
• Write, document and test code to implement the technical and game design
• Mentor junior programmers as needed
• Review and critique code design and implementation from other programmers
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the software development process

Abilities
• 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent
• 6+ years experience software development
• 4+ years experience in games development, preferably MMO
• Proficient with one or more of these languages: Java, Python, C# or C++.
• Commitment to integration, scaling and stabilization of large asynchronous distributed systems
• Experience with the full game development cycle from concept to ship
• Production experience with the following technologies highly desirable: multiplayer games, web services, customer support and ecommerce systems, complex event processing, TCP or UDP socket servers, Linux, MMO servers, databases, or online game security
• Passion for making and playing innovative games

Required Skills

4 yr degree; 6+ yrs experience in software development with 4+ in games, preferably MMO; one or more: Java, Python, C#, C++; experience with full development cycle; production experience highly desirable.
