This is a role that will make a strong cultural influence. Let’s do a little math – The population of India is 1,170,938,000. In the last year the number of mobile phone users rose to over 900 million users. After China, India has the largest number of mobile phone subscribers in the world at 919,170,000 which is 75.32% of their population. By comparison, the US is number 3 on the list with 327,577,529 users (more active cell phones than the actual population). The US mobile game market is expected to hit $1.6 billion by 2015 and has been growing in excess of 200% over the last two years. Market revenue in India is expected to reach $450 Million in 2012. It may take a few years for the mobile game market in India to pass the US in revenue, but when it does it will continue to increase at a higher rate than the US merely because of the population.
